Corny's of Tipperary Town first opened its doors to the public in 1742, thus making it the oldest public house in Tipperary. Since then it has continued to serve the public not only as a pub, but also as a meeting place - a friendly home-from-home where all customers can totally relax. Inside, Corny's is divided into a number of separate yet interlinked spaces where customers can enjoy relative privacy if desired, or alternatively take part in the communal enjoyment of the pub. There is a high level of comfort throughout with soft seating and warm intimate lighting. Music is a big element of Corny's: every Thursday and most Sundays, there is traditional music, and great craic.
Conry's changed hands in recent months, with Mark Cooney buying the premises. A native of Tipp Town, Mark is son of Mary and the late Nicky Cooney of St. Michael's Road. He's delighted with the entire venture and is currently in the process of decorating both inside and the pub's exterior. His aim, he says, is to create a pub atmosphere that portrays a mere extension of one's sitting room at home, warm and cosy, where friendly faces are never far away. And with his enthusiasm along with that of manager - Paddy O'Brien and Davy Whelan, he is sure to achive this aim. Mark would like to take this opportunity to thank Corny's most important asset, its customers. "Renewed thanks for all your support, well wishes and smiles over the past three months. Here's to a Happy and Healthy New Year, to one and all," he said. We look forward to meeting up with Mark and publicising his progress in a future edition.

Hi Mark , I am the other half of the two brothers from down under, Ladd has I think been in touch with you. We still talk about the great night we had in your pub, meeting yourself , the kind hospitality and many of the locals , wow a great night it was, it was ( I think??—next morning a little slow, Ladd struggled with breakfast) I had spoken to Ladd about this great pub in Tippy and you guys filled a dream for Ladd who has not traveled to this part of the world before.
